Lifestyle and Photography

dsc00194Photography to me:

Photography is that magical thing that I’ve always been interested in but never felt confident enough to really give a try. Now I’d be lying if I said I didn’t put a little photography effort into my pictures when at events or out with friends. I’d try to capture a few good shots but if they didn’t turn out well thats okay cause “I’m not a photographer” after all.

What a crap excuse! I may not be a professional photographer YET, but I am still a photographer none the less. So I might as well start acting like one and really focus on learning and improving.

The Blogs Focus:

So to help document this journey and motivate me to get out and practice more, I’m making this blog. I guess you can think of it as a photo journal of some sort. focusing on lifestyle and of course photography.

I’m not a 100% sure what you should expect since I’m figuring things out myself. Photography as an art form and not just a way to document moments, is very new to me. So as you can imagine, I’ve got lots to explore and try out. I’m trying to find my style and figure out what works best for me.

About This photoshoot:

After deciding that I wanted to put a little more effort into photography I quickly nabbed a new mirrorless camera. The Sony Alta A6000 to be exact. With a smaller camera body than my big clunky Canon EOS 60D, I figured it would be the perfect practice camera.

Shortly after receiving the camera I was eager to test it out, after all it was very different from my DSLR camera. So, I decided to take a few self portraits to see how the camera handled itself. Using my Canon 50mm f1.8 lens and a K&F concept lens adapter I was able to take these shots.

For an quick impromptu photoshoot I think the images came out pretty well. The lens adapter that I was using at the time doesn’t allow for auto focus so I had to manually focus which is very new to me. Also the 50mm lens gives me life when it comes to portraits cause it REALLY takes away the distractions of the background.

I look forward to future photoshoots and getting more comfortable editing my photos after the fact. I just started using Lightroom and I have to admit that I am really diggin’ it so far. Lots of cool features that really come in handy. Anyway, that’s all for now. Thank you for stickin’ around this long! I hope you book mark the blog, follow me on bloglovin’ or via RSS feed and say hello in the comments bellow.

Until next time!

xoxo, Tatyana
